Pakistan produces ‘9 million tons of rice, expects to earn $4.75 billion from exporting rice

The Minister for National Food Security and Research (NFS&R), Fakhar Imam, confirmed that the country exported $4.75 billion worth of rice this year due to record harvests.

At a news conference in Islamabad, he said the government and private sector would need to collaborate to realize this export potential.

He said Pakistan exports rice mainly to China, Kenya, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, and Afghanistan. 
We might also consider other African and Latin American markets, he said.
