UN Secretary-General Criticizes the international response to the Omicron Variant

UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres strongly criticized the international response to the Omicron variant, saying that closing borders have disproportionately affected African nations where the variant was first detected and vaccines were slow to arrive.

Furthermore, Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, stated that Africans should not be blamed for the ethically low level of vaccinations available to them. Neither should they be penalized for identifying and sharing crucial science and health information with the world.
