Ms Marvel: Iman Vellani As First Pakistani American Superhero Trailer Is Here

Marvel Cinematic Studios along with Disney+ have finally released the trailer of the highly anticipated show Ms. Marvel which follows the story of a Pakistani-American Muslim girl. Fans all around the world had been eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of the upcoming Disney series. And after a long wait, the trailer has been dropped by the MCU, which shows a lively and fun world of a Pakistani-American girl Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani) from Jersey City.

The trailer shows the life of a bubbly Kamala Khan in Jersey City who struggles in school and finds it hard to find a solid footing in her life. The trailer even briefly reveals the Pakistani and Muslim culture, as we can see Kamala Khan wearing ‘shalwar kameez’ and dancing at a desi wedding. One of the scenes even shows Kamala praying in a mosque. 

The well-renowned Oscar-winning Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was lucky enough to work on the Ms. Marvel project. “Having just emerged from a year and a half of working on Ms. Marvel, I cannot wait to share her story with the world, I know many young girls will see a reflection of themselves in her!” said Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

The Pakistani filmmaker has directed 3 episodes in the upcoming debut season of Ms. Marvel As for Fawad Khan, the trailer offered nothing which can confirm his role in the show. However, according to the reports, he will make a cameo appearance in a flashback season during the series.
