BIRMINGHAM – Heart-stopping moments were witnessed after Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem won gold at the Commonwealth Games 2022 for his record-breaking performance in the javelin throw event.
The 25-year-old fulfilled his promise to win pride for his country at the international event, overcoming an injury to throw the spear at 90.18 m, setting a new Games record and defeating Grenada’s Anderson Peters to win the title.
Arshad Nadeem can be seen in a viral video embracing a Pakistani contingent official after winning the competition. At the time, the young player was unable to contain his emotions and can be seen weeping for joy, while another official is also seen expressing his love for the game.
At the end of the video, he can be seen walking around the stadium while holding a Pakistani flag and receiving applause from the audience.
