A German corporate group will travel to Pakistan to investigate investment possibilities.
Last week, Christian Boettcher, First Secretary of the German Embassy in Pakistan, and Muhammad Usman, Pakistan Representative at the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), met with Secretary BOI Ms Fareena Mazhar in her office to discuss cyber security technology investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The findings of a recent German delegation’s visit to Pakistan were addressed during the discussion.
Three German businesses have opted to invest in Pakistan and have already registered, according to the First Secretary. AHK indicated interest in their companies investing in cyber security technology in Pakistan. Secretary BOI elaborated on the prospects present in cyber security, stating that Pakistan’s IT industry is one of the country’s top five net exporters.
Boettcher and Usman praised Pakistan’s IT sector’s potential and stated that they will soon share their business proposals with BOI.
They also stated that by the end of June (subject to the Covid-19 scenario), they plan to host a business event for German enterprises in Pakistan, with the goal of connecting them with Pakistani SMEs.
Another meeting was held between Secretary BOI and Paul Obers, CEO HATO, Netherlands, with Rizwan Majeed Khan, CEO, HATO Pakistan, Ms. Lianne Houben, Deputy Head of Mission, Netherlands Embassy in Pakistan, and top officers of BOI in attendance.
