All Of Us Are Selling- Let’s Sell Better!

Let’s bust the biggest myth right in the beginning The people in selling jobs are not the ONLY salespeople BUT we all are SALESPERSON! Yes, in whichever role we are, we are selling! It could be our ideas, our worth, our product, our services, our intentions, our care, our empathy, our concepts, our presence, etc. When you are sitting on an interview chair, you are actually selling yourself-that what possible value you could bring for that organization and position. When you are presenting with 31 odd numbers of slides in a board meeting, you are selling the hard work & process you have developed. When you are teaching children history, you are in fact selling the ideas and stories that can help the children shape their future. When you are arranging a beautiful anniversary dinner with flowers and chocolates, you are selling how much you care and love your wife! Since it is a known fact now that you are into selling, here are a few ways to avoid cardinal sins of selling.

Ask yourself; is my product/service great? Does it have enough potential to give value to others? The simple rule is People see you as you see yourself. If you are in doubt about what you are selling is of value, it is a signal to sit down & evaluate it first within yourself. Take your time!

Zig Ziglar shares in his book “Secrets of Closing the Sale” that it is OK to be too enthusiastic than not to be too enthusiastic. We often miss out on being enthusiastic about what we are presenting; the flat faces & expressionless voices are nothing but a KILLER! Remember, the feelings are always reciprocated. If you are excited & thrilled, then fair chances are the other person will feel the same too.

Let’s confess. Some of us just LOVE to talk; we love to drag a conversation. And some of us could be easily labeled as champions of non-stop record that keeps on playing no matter how bored or annoyed our listener gets. Keep the famous saying in mind “Tell what time it is & not how to build a watch.” Try to keep things precise, crisp & valuable for the listener. Don’t flood them with all information in your head or irrelevant rant about your services or products.

Robots are indeed a great invention but can they ever replace human beings? Nah, so believe in your power as a human being and exercise the gift you are blessed with i.e. Human connection. Try and build a human connection during your interactions. It is painful to see when people deal with zero empathy, zero care & zero respect. Robots can never do great at selling, so claim back your human potential from today! I hope these easy-to-apply-and-remember tips will help you embark on your selling journey with a difference. I wish you to be a sales champion this year! When you are sitting on an interview chair, you are actually selling yourself-that what possible value you could bring for that organization and position. When you are presenting with 31 odd numbers of slides in a board meeting, you are selling the hard work & process you have developed.
