After gathering environmental samples from several areas, the federal health officials previously confirmed the poliovirus’s existence in seven places.
Four cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had poliovirus detections, according to health officials. Testing involved gathering sewage samples from Peshawar, Bannu, Nowshera, and Swat.
Sewage samples from Islamabad and Rawalpindi have also contained polio.
The disclosure follows Pakistan’s confirmation that 13 cases of polio were found in North Waziristan and one in Laki Marwat in 2022.
