CCL, the first pharmaceutical company in Pakistan to introduce the UN Sustainable Goals

CCL has a more than 50-year history of contributing to society through its products, services, and awareness activities.

To take these contributions to the next level, CCL has begun its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 by launching CCL’s “Hand in Hand” Sustainability initiatives across the organization on August 23, 2022.

This event was virtually attended by employees from their Head Office and Plant, as well as global teams from 22 countries. CCL will now work to reduce its carbon footprint and continue its journey toward a healthier, happier future as a result of this historic launch.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 13 (Climate Action) have been chosen because they best encompass the value chain, manufacturing process, and those whose lives CCL touches through its products and services.

Their sustainability strategy is built around five pillars: energy, materials, processes, employees, and community. They formed teams under these pillars to devise actions for 2022 – 23.

“I take this opportunity to reach out to all our employees across the globe with these action plans and engage them for this great cause,” said Kashif Sajjad Sheikh, Chairman CCL, at the Hand in Hand kick-off event.

“Climate change will not affect our lives in the future; it is already affecting them through floods, natural disasters, heatwaves, and so on.” We will do our part to ensure a greener tomorrow for future generations by continuing to collaborate and prioritizing sustainability,” he added.
