Pakistan has asked the D-8 nations to work together to ensure the D-8 Alliance’s food security

Chaudhary Salik Hussain, Federal Minister for Board of Investment and Special Initiatives, and Ms Fareena Mazhar, Secretary BOI, are in Istanbul for the D-8 Investment Conference, which will be place on June 16, 2022, to commemorate the D-8 Organization’s 25th anniversary.

“I am pleased to report that Pakistan’s agriculture sector, which is the backbone of our economy, grew by 4.4 percent in FY2022, thanks to a 6.6 percent gain in crop production and a 3.3 percent increase in livestock production.” The Pakistani government is focusing on providing specific tax and duty relief on various agricultural equipment and machinery.

I ask the D-8 nations to join hands with Pakistan to make the D-8 alliance food secure and agriculturally prosperous.

The minister met with delegations from the Developing 8 countries and invited them to explore Pakistan’s vast investment opportunities, particularly in its special economic zones. “The government of Pakistan is working on transforming Pakistan into a high-end commercial, technical, and industrial hub,” said the minister of BOI. Ms Fareena Mazhar, Secretary of the Board of Investment, gave a detailed presentation and informed the audience at the D-8 Investment Forum about Pakistan’s recent business reforms attempts to promote ease of doing business.

“Pakistan has also seen an incredible improvement in its security situation and has conducted notable regulatory reforms which have been recognized globally by the World Trade Organization, World Economic Forum and the World Bank of Pakistan”, She stated.
